Itinerary

Specifically designed for assisted walking for walking frame or cane users.

Join our 2-3 hour guided, 1.5km step-free, loop walk through Mimosa Rocks National Park on Yuin Country on the far South Coast of NSW. Starting at Bithry Inlet, where the forest is a kaleidoscope of spotted gums and burrawangs. From here we’ll make our way along a firm gravel service vehicle access path in the direction of the National Parks Myer House and learn about the intriguing recent history of the park. Keep your eyes peeled, we might be lucky enough to spot an elusive red-necked wallaby hiding in the low scrub bush. Soon we will pop out at Thong Campground, a disused campsite that overlooks the beach. It’s possible we might see a mob of eastern grey kangaroos grazing on the grass or resting in the shade of the trees.

We’ll follow a wide, grassy pathway that traverses parallel to the ocean and is lined with dwarfed and weathered trees sculptured from the eastern sea breeze. We’ll stop for a morning or afternoon tea at a bench seat overlooking the sapphire blue Bithry Inlet before making our way back to the carpark via a service vehicle track.

Morning or afternoon tea includes plunger coffee, black leaf tea and a selection of herbal tea bags, sugar and local full cream milk from Tilba Dairy or freshly squeezed orange juice. We include seasonal fruit and a gluten free caramel slice from Blend Cafe. Special dietary requirements can be catered for upon request, we ask that you select your drink before the tour to avoid waste.
