Light to Light Walking Tour – Trip Notes

Internet and Phone Coverage

There is reasonable phone coverage and Internet via 4G & 5G in most of the populated areas on the Sapphire Coast. Most people have mobile access at the Seahorse Inn, and wifi is available for guests.  On the Light to Light Walk and throughout Beowa National Park mobile reception is patchy and unreliable.  If you plan to have no coverage, you will not be disappointed. Most guests enjoy the opportunity to really disconnect and be ‘off-line’.

Consideration of others

7 Leave no trace principles: Navigate Expeditions abides by the 7 leave no trace principles.  We invite guests to familiarise themselves with these principles when travelling with us on all our tours.

Respectful to other guests: Be considerate to other group members, you can do this by rotating seats in the vehicles, being kind, considerate and respectful to others values and belief systems. We are all here to have enjoyable experiences.

Climate

The temperate climate of the Sapphire Coast region is ideal for enjoying our nature and outdoors all year round.

December to March – An average high of 25°C and low of 17°C

April May – An average high of 20°C and low of 12 °C.

June to August – Average high of 15 °C and low of 7 °C

September to November – Average high of 21 °C and low of 16 °C

Getting to the Sapphire coast

The Sapphire Coast is located approximately halfway between Melbourne and Sydney, on the far south coast of New South Wales, Australia.

It is only a 4 hour drive from Canberra via Cooma or a 7-8 hour drive from either Melbourne or Sydney. Flights operate by Rex or Qantas between Merimbula, Sydney & Melbourne.

Airport Transfers, Arrival & departures

Please discuss this with our team at time of booking. We offer transfers from just about any where in the Bega Valley Shire.

Travel insurance and medial information

When you book the tour we do ask that you provide us with detailed medical information. We keep this incase of an emergency so we have your information on hand if we need to provide this to a medical team.

We recommend all our guests have travel insurance before paying the final instalment for the tour.

Accommodation

The Seahorse Inn accommodation is comprised of modern, self-contained 2 and 3 bedroom Villas.  Guests are assigned to rooms based on accessibility & bedding configuration need. Rest assured all the Villas are very comfortable, with modern bathrooms, heating and include basic kitchen facilities including a small fridge.  They are privately positioned with beautiful outlooks of native bushland, just metres from Twofold beach.

Laundry

While there wont be a whole lot of time to do laundry, the Seahorse Inn does have washing and drying facilities available to all guests.

Smoking

We have a no-smoking policy for all of our guests and staff, this is for the health, safety and enjoyment of everyone.

Our guides always have additional drinking water in the vehicles. We ask that guests bring re-fillable drinking bottles with them to top up during the day.

Overall this tour is medium in terms of difficultly. If you are unsure please just email us and we can provide you with more information.

If you are booking a private tour, we can change the activities to make it easier or more challenging, just let us know in advance.

For those who enjoy a sunset glass of wine or cold brew after a day on the trail, the Seahorse Inn offers an excellent selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available for separate purchase.

We do not tolerate drunken behaviour during the tours. As detailed in our terms and conditions, our guides may ask you to leave the tour if they feel your behaviour is negatively affecting the experience of others or putting yourself or others at risk.
