Our Brogo Dam Kayak Tour is your invitation to slow down, breathe deeply, and discover a different kind of beauty. One that’s tranquil, sheltered, and perfect for everyone, from first-time paddlers to multi-generational families.
Tucked within Wadbilliga National Park at the base of the Great Dividing Range, Brogo Dam offers a kayaking experience like no other. Here there are no waves, no tides, and no tricky currents—just calm waters that invite you to relax and soak it all in. Glide effortlessly across the dam before venturing into a spectacular gorge where towering rock walls, orchids, and mirrored reflections create an atmosphere of pure serenity.
As you paddle, your guide will bring the landscape to life with stories of Brogo’s geological past and human history. Learn how the ancient rock formations of the gorge were shaped over millions of years, and how the dam itself was constructed in the 1970s to provide vital water to the Bega Valley. It’s a chance to see not just the beauty of the landscape, but also the forces—both natural and human—that shaped it.
Wildlife is everywhere: sea eagles circling overhead, cormorants drying their wings, wallabies on the drive in, and even the flash of an azure kingfisher if you’re lucky. It’s nature at its most intimate, and far away from the crowds.
Halfway through, step ashore for a morning tea that celebrates the best of the region: Tilba Dairy milk, Wild Rye bakery treats, seasonal fruit, and freshly brewed coffee or tea. A refreshing swim is always on the cards, too.
After your paddle, add on stops at North of Eden Distillery and the Bega Cheese Heritage Centre—or book our full-day transfer option and let us whisk your group there and back.
Brogo Dam is more than a kayak tour—it’s a regional immersion in nature, flavours, and calm waters that everyone can enjoy. And every booking supports the Bega Local Aboriginal Land Council.
Book your Brogo Dam Kayaking Tour today—because sometimes the best adventures happen away from the waves.
