Embark on a tranquil kayaking adventure at Brogo Dam, nestled within the majestic Wadbilliga National Park at the base of the Great Dividing Range. This stunning dam offers sheltered paddling, perfect for all ages and skill levels. With no tides or currents, you’ll experience kayaking at its best, surrounded by pristine nature.
As you glide across the calm waters of Brogo Dam, keep your eyes open for abundant birdlife, including ducks, cormorants, and the magnificent white-bellied sea eagle. If you’re lucky and quiet, you might even spot the elusive azure kingfisher. Follow your expert guide from the open waters into a breathtaking, narrowing gorge, where towering rock formations, delicate orchids, and stunning reflections create a magical experience. You might even see a lizard or two sunning themselves on the rocks. The journey to Brogo Dam is part of the adventure, with frequent sightings of wallabies on the drive in, and opportunities to spot wombat holes and animal tracks along the banks.
Take a break from paddling to stretch your legs, enjoy a refreshing swim, and indulge in a delightful morning tea. Our spread includes:
Brogo Dam is an ideal alternative when coastal winds make ocean paddling challenging. If our coastal river kayaking tours are affected by strong winds, we may offer you a fantastic Brogo Dam kayaking tour instead (weather permitting, of course!). This tour is also fantastic for multi-generational families, offering an activity everyone, from elders to young children, can participate in and enjoy.
$1 from every Brogo Dam tour will be donated to the Bega Local Aboriginal Land Council.
