Steve Totterdell

Steve is thrilled to be part of the Navigate Expeditions team, having lived and visited on the far south coast of NSW for most of his life. He loves the outdoors and has acquired a wealth of knowledge of the different habitats of this special part of Australia. His passion for sharing this knowledge is infectious.

From an early age, his interest in the natural environment was nurtured by accompanying his father, a botanist photographer, who participated in many field trips. Combined with many family camping trips, this interest developed into the love he has for the Australian environment today.

Steve began tour guiding in Kakadu National Park in the year 1999 as a wetlands guide on the famous Yellow Waters Billabong. He was also lucky enough to  spend 15 years of his life living in a remote Aboriginal community in Arnhem Land, on an island called Milingimbi, Northern Territory. Due to this experience Steve has a unique insight into Aboriginal culture.
