A kayak tour through different eco systems from the forest of reeds in the lagoon to the sand spits, bush and farm land of the Bega River. We’ll be going at a pace to suit the group’s experience level and have time to really enjoy the natural habitat with guests often spotting egrets fishing by the shallow waters, azure kingfishers perched on the ends of branches and possibly white bellied sea eagles flying above. There really is so much to see and experience along this beautiful lagoon and river system. Part way along we’ll land ashore to stretch our legs, enjoy a lovely morning tea and perhaps even a swim.
This unique tour ventures into an underrated wilderness, guiding you from a hidden forest of reeds into an expansive lagoon system. You’ll land on secluded sand spits and explore pristine river islands, discovering a diverse, untouched habitat where egrets fish and sea eagles soar.
Your expert guide will lead the way, with all kayaking equipment and safety gear provided. No previous kayaking experience is needed, although this is an active experience best suited to guests with moderate fitness and good balance.
Morning tea includes plunger coffee, black leaf tea or peppermint leaf tea, sugar and local full cream milk from Tilba Real Dairy. We include seasonal fruit and a locally made sweet treat from Wild Rye’s, as well as fruit juice. Special dietary requirements can be catered for upon request, just let us know at time of booking.
Five dollars from every booking is donated directly to the Bega Local Aboriginal Land Council. Your contribution funds vital projects dedicated to conserving the region’s natural environment and preserving the rich Indigenous culture and heritage of this beautiful landscape.
