When we started Navigate Expeditions, we made a promise: to ensure that every time our guests step into a kayak, hop on an e-bike, or lace up their hiking boots, they are directly giving back to the stunning landscapes and communities we call home.
As we wrap up this financial year, we are incredibly proud to share that together, we have contributed over $6,100 in cash donations, cultural purchases, and in-kind community support.
To be completely transparent, keeping that promise was much harder this year. Right at our busiest time, we were hit with severe financial pressure from skyrocketing fuel costs. Instead of passing that burden onto you, we chose to absorb the costs and keep our prices steady. It meant taking a massive hit to our own bottom line, and making these donations felt genuinely tough.
But we stand firmly by our commitment. We refuse to let down our guests or the incredible organisations doing vital work on the ground. To every single person who booked a tour with us this year—thank you. You didn’t just go on an adventure; you funded real, tangible change.
Here is exactly where your adventure dollars went.
Every splash of a paddle helped protect our marine life. Your time on the Pambula River raised $631 for Sea Shepherd Australia, helping protect delicate marine ecosystems. Meanwhile, our Bermagui River and Eden 5-Hour tours contributed a combined $410 to Wildlife Rescue South Coast, providing critical aid to injured and orphaned native animals. Down in Eden, our 2-Hour Highlights Tour raised $464 specifically to protect the local Little Penguins colony.
Connecting with Country is at the heart of what we do. Our Bega River, Brogo Dam, and Pedal & Picnic tours generated $250 this year for the Bega Local Aboriginal Land Council. Our Aboriginal Cultural Kayak Tour also directly contributed $275 to the Twofold Aboriginal Corporation, alongside our ongoing catering purchases of their delicious native Lemon Myrtle slice.
From the wetlands to the coastal tracks, we are investing in the future of the environment. Our Eden to Merimbula Tour raised $750 for the gorgeous Panboola Wetlands, while our Light to Light Transfers raised $500 for the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife (FNPW). Our Eden E-Bike tours raised $175 for local trail care. Plus, by simply booking online through Stripe, 1% of all our incoming revenue ($602) automatically went directly to global Stripe Climate initiatives to remove carbon from the atmosphere.
Beyond conservation, we believe in being a good neighbour. This year, we provided $2,400 in-kind support and gift vouchers to grassroots groups, local schools, cancer support networks, and cultural festivals, alongside a $125 financial sponsorship for our local community radio.
Thank you again for an incredible year of adventure, resilience, and giving back. We couldn’t have done it without you!
